Hi kavenkoy

thanks for that info! do you have a slotted or non slotted box for viewing cards etc or do you need any cards to view your tv.

Hi

I have a 90cm dish and a next box (slotted) linked to hotbird satellite and find most of the English speaking channels scrambled, anybody know of a way to 'unscramble' without having to buy cards?

Thanks

I have the Next box (unslotted) with Hotbird & Nilesat dishes. Most hotbird programmes I had have now gone scrambled but the Nilesat are still OK. Waiting for UKTurk to return from holiday to redo his magic, but he's been away a few month.

Msge 8

Lost all the Hotbird except for the free news programmes. It happened over a period of a month or so. Havent had them for about 3 months now.

I'm waiting to see how the tests are turning out with the slingbox - might be the way to go

Dear Sandyblackcat/ PaulB re msg 10/11

The tests were very brief - The slingbox is a device that allows you to control a SKY receiver/ Freeview box, etc back home and change channel, view recordings via the net

As Nige will testify, and I've said all along, it is "useless" until the upload speed is 1.5 mps - ADSL in UK normally 0.25 to 0.39, so you get a small jerky window.

With Virgin cable -you get double this on their fast service, but you would be penalised for high traffic and throttled back.

One needs a fast uplink from say, London, and the ISP agreeing not to penalise your heavy usage. This means a business connection - at current UK rates that means about £25 month, plus the cost of the box and admin..

I hardly think someone will pay that..

For now its back to VPNs to watch BBC/ ITV or a big dish :(

dear vee 123!! if you have next 2000, you have only one option.if you move your dish 7 degree west nilesat position you can get 4 english news channels(BBC world-euronews-CNN-aljazerre). two english programme which is mixed, 7 english movie channels and 3 sport channels(sometimes in english) all of these channels are free.

moreover if you want more english programme, you only need "next 3000 disec motor" and then you can get 8 different position more english news channel.movie channels and english radio(BFBS radio)...acip

Hi Kav

I have been trying to get hold of UKTurk for months in order to update my Next box. I don't suppose that you still have the bit of magic software and can remember how to do the programming ???

Regards

Paul
