Hi all,

We need a little advise.

Could anyone tell us exactly what remit the above office work under?

Can they arbitrate in a dispute. Are their decisions legally binding? (or just mediate)

What sanctions can they impose on builders who do not comply with their decisions?

Do they have any powers of enforcement?

all advise will be gratefully received.

Hello Mr John Cooper,

Welcome to the forum, Big Bill here, you may remember you thought I was someone else !!

Are you talking about the property complaints office ?? if so yes they are a government office with certain powers to address problems and complaints.

Dont know about any other office called 'prime ministry information office' perhaps you could be more specific.

Iwill be offline till next Wed or Thu, but ukturk will be able to help possibly or I will get back to you later next week if you can clarify !!

Hi Wynyardman,

I think you are referring to the property complaints office, which I understand is attached to the primeministers office. This office has been set up to deal with disputes between buyers and their builders. You go along and have a chat and then complete a form and are given a number.

Are you from Wyndyard near Sedgfielde, Co. Durham?

Hi John & Julie,

Stephen my hubbie and I are from Darlington but we are living in the big city in the south as hubbie works there. I go home to gods country as often as possible. We have a bungalow at Esentepe, lovely place but are having a few problems with service charges which spoil things at the moment. Hope all of our problems will get sorted out some day

Regards

Avril
