I have a 'Necon' system for my swimming pool - uses copper/silver plates to kill bugs and algae. Great system, no chlorine, etc. The one thing I didn't get was a copper level test kit. I have been quoted 420 euros for an electronic test kit, which I think is very expensive. OK if you're testing pools all day, but expensive for the once a month test the instructions advise.I know in UK you can get copper test kits that use a tablet system to check copper ion levels - anyone know if these are available here? - perhaps anyone using the 'floatron' system can help - this system uses the same technology. Any advice/pointers gratefully received

I use PoolSan and that requires a copper test which I do with a tablet kit. Used to get these from PoolSan but will now hope to get them from Zerochlor once he opens next week.

Give him a ring and he can probably help you anyway - 0533 8345 256

Try TRNCvaughan who seems a fund of information and products when it comes to pools

The only person to contact is Vaughan of Octopus pools 0533 845 8494 he already does the silver pool treatment system. You will find that most pool people here think that a copper test is something to do with the Police.

Up to you treeman, if you want to talk to somebody who does silver pool treatment when you have copper and asked for that specifically then talk to the "only" person to contact.

The problem with experts is that everybody knows one. Not that Vaughan is not an expert by the way, he is always ready to help.

Re: msg 6

many thanks, zerochlor. Perhaps you could post when your 'in stock'

My operating instructions tell me that the copper level should be 0.5 - 1.0 mg/l

will your copper test strips provide this level of accuracy (sorry, I am used to using test strips on a spa tub in UK, but use the liquid test kit here for PH and chlorine)

Also, any idea what the cst will be for the pack of strips?

If anyone URGENTLY needs test strips to test for copper, they are available here: -

http://www.pooltestonline.co.uk/acatalog/3-in-1-pool-check-copper.html

at £5.95 for a tub of 50 strips, and test PH and TA as well as copper.

You could perhaps get someone to bring them over.

I have used this company for '6-in-1' test strips for chlorine pools: -

http://www.pooltestonline.co.uk/acatalog/6in1-pool-test-strip.html#a481330

These are useful as they include a cyanuric acid test, and are £4.99 for 50.

I have found the service of the 'pooltestonline' company to be very prompt.

Keith.
