Does anyone travel south for medical care. Is it allowed or not as citizens of the eu or do we only qualify if we live in the south? I felt sure that I'd read about ex-pats going south for treatment with their cancer etc. Seems highly unlikely with a Trnc address that the GC's would register you for an E121 form but stranger things have happened.

In short to receive medical treatment as part of the reciprocal EU wide agreement- one must be registered in the RoC - the area they effectively control.

The short-term solution for UK resident using their EU Health card will not work if the UK find out you aren't UK resident.

Hi mitsi,

The E121 is supposed to be for tourists only, who are visiting another European country. When I lived in Italy, I was not allowed to use it but had to join their social security scheme. I cannot see how you could get away with living in the TRNC and getting prolonged treatment in the south.

Hi Mitsi,

I have used medical facilities in the south and always had to pay for them as the E121 is not recognised if you live in the trnc
