I and many many friends have DOPI TV,had it for 18months now and very happy with it.Where else can you get the amount of channels on offer at this price(to follow).People question paying for a year up front but i have been to see Namik(owner) and asked him his future intentions for his company, his response was that they are still investing heavily in the business and have many future plans,he is a very knowledgeable man and has always been honest in his replys to any questions.DOPI offers a full range of channels and who else gives you EVERY premiership game throughout the season!WOULD NOT CONSIDER ANY OTHER SUPPLIER!

And before anyone starts with your comments about ILLEGAL transmissions sorry but you are living in an ILLEGAL country!

£585 installation and 1st year

£175 the next year.

People question DOPI installation costs but ring other suppliers and you will find it very reasonable.

I have been on the dopitv site and see that there are a good selection of British channels but can anyone tell me if you get many Russian channels and if its not too much trouble can you list the major ones.

Paul,

We are over here now, sorry we missed tou and Luba, the TV guy came today and put a pile of Russian Channels on, we are using a motorised dish and a next box, Nilesat all the stuff you get in Dubai and a lot more, plenty of english speaking channels (movies), Hotbird for the Russian channels, Vinera is flicking through them now, plus a few other satellites that is picking up some choice stuff. One off payment £400 for box, dish and installation. It will do for us mate she is looking very happy with the Russian channel content.

Sorry about the timing as well Mike, we are back at the end of June for 2 weeks so we will hopefully catch up with you sometime then but if not we will be moving permanently in mid August. How long did it take for the TV to get done from when you asked for it. I would like to get it in June but if it takes more than 2 weeks I will have to wait obviously.

Do you have any advice on an internet connection as well Mike.

All the best, Paul and Luba

Hi Paul,

The Turkcell 3G us run off a USB dongle and apparently there are routers available but I never looked at that as I am the only user in the house.

Hi Fairy, they installed 3 dishes, fastened to my roof water tank. Coronation street is on but I don;t know how far behind it is. Same for Emmerdale and Eastenders. I'm happy with the set-up

Thankyou minetor, as long as it is shown at some point (god I am a sad corrie fan) that is great. Can I ask..why 3 dishes..? Any alternative, like 1 bigger 1 or is it needed..?

Thanks.

DOPI tv is a franchise of Uran Electronics in Lefkosa. If you buy direct from Uran (as we did) it is cheaper, 1100tl (approx £450) installation and 1st year, US$200 (approx £125) for subsequent years - at least it was 4 months ago.

The 3 dishes are for Hotbird, Nilesat and the licence channel. We have 4 with the extra one for Turksat.

Uran's number is 0392 227 2763 - ask for Halil. The rest have limited English and may get Halil to call you back.

Thanx MMMMMM,

I think going with Mikes idea will be my best shot at what I am looking for to keep Luba happy.

I certainly didn't intend to get you riled up about dopiTV or any other in fact I for one value your info on the not completely legal systems(possibly or possibly not) I have had the experience of buying what used to be a set top box that the guy promised me will give me everything I want, It did for 2 weeks and then was just another electronic dust collector because the digital provider changed the scrambling system.

The only channels I am really interested in are the free to air russian channels for the wife. What I tend to watch are sports, which I prefer the company of a pint and good atmosphere so the pub is the place and a good movie/ serial which I tend to pay for and download through legal systems.

I think in the end it becomes a personal choice to either try to get everything you can for as cheap as possible and then face the consequences if it fails or legality

I think to be fair to Mark, he is only trying to warn you that you may lose the channels having paid your money. Its not often I stick up for him but he is trying to help here.

Well said Dawnie1, I think some people just like to wind Mark up.

As you stated he is just trying to advise which was the original request, in fact I had a follow up question about the DopiTV choice of channels and even though Mark warns against dopiTV as in the first question he still advised me of the choices as in the second question.

I don't really see this as interfeering Stanley but answering the questions as requested but each to there own opinion I suppose.

As I said before on several occasions, Thanks again Mark and thanks to others who have advised me both positive and negative.

Question for MMMMMM

When are these card sharing set ups supposed to be going off air. The way you were talking a few months ago I thought you said they wouldn't last long.

They still seem to be working fine. Are you right about this or is it another bit of bum info ?
