I thought I'd read that Japan was the first team to qualify ?

After Wednesday we (England) will have seven wins, so we're after your record !

Lets face it dutch, with Scotland and Norway as 2 of the other teams in your group there is not that much of a challenge but congratulations anyway. We are in second and if we beat you guys then we only need a draw to go through, IF we beat you guys.

RE msg 7, proger1 > IF <

=> proger1, this url gives very interesting details. Click a flag in Group 9 (bottom) and find all facts against your "IF". http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminaries/europe/standings/index.html

Sorry IF you had this URL already...

proger1: before I get problems again: *I* did *not* write this on the FIFA web site: "Though they have a long and proud football tradition, Scotland are known throughout the world as something of a FIFA World Cup™ almost team."

Reminder: Holland-Scotland (March 2009): 3-0.

Dutch, the Scots are the first to admit we are a bit of an almost team and we don't get upset about it for the most part. We have beaten you guys before although not very often. We will probably do our usual and if we do qualify it will end up being on goal difference and not by an easy win.

What you have to remember about Scottish football is, put us up against a good team as underdogs and we do pretty well, put us up against a bad team as underdogs and we are C**p.

We just live to beat the English and have actually done it once or twice out of about 20 attempts.

Please no comments about 1966, we all know and it was a long time ago.

Proger1: In September, one day before the match: take the Dutch football team out for a day fishing on Loch Lomond - and they won't show up in the stadium. Most exciting fresh water fishing - pike!!! - in Western Europe! Ah..., those were the days...

Actually I make it 20 games without defeat in world cup qualifying including 8 away wins in a row.

But I may be wrong although I am using a very good football site.

Oranje kan nog afgaan zoals een gieter in het WK, niets is op voorhand gespeeld.

RE msg 16, ricky > Oranje kan nog afgaan zoals een gieter in het WK, niets is op voorhand gespeeld. <

=> Very good - understandable - Dutch, ricky! Here's how it should read: "Oranje kan in het WK nog afgaan als een gieter, geen wedstrijd is op voorhand gespeeld."

Did you use Google to translate? Or another site? Care to tell me?

First European Qualifiers.

But we all know the Dutch are perennial under achievers at the World stage.
