Was hoping I could get some advice about holidaying in Turkey... It seems odd talking about going on holiday when you live here but - we are....

We are wanting to get away for a week's holiday where there is some good snorkelling/diving and somewhere not too touristy but with decent bars/restaurants

Anyway, just wondered if anyone knew of some good deals, nice hotels, best beaches/destinations (preferably all inclusive...but we're open to suggestions...) and also whether you would advise the ferry route or flying??

I did try to look through old threads but couldn't find much so, if you've been and have recommendations (or otherwise), I'd love to hear them... We aren't loaded so probably steer clear of luxury resorts... :(

Look forward to hearing your ideas!?

Thanks,

Anna.

Like MMMMMM, Fethiye is Cok Guzel, we stayed in a lovely pension in a mountain village called Kaya Koy famous for having a deserted greek village.

you will find it much cheaper than here, and their is so much to see and do, go for it, you will not regret it.

If you want to travel Turkey have a look at our web site http://www.fezbus.co.uk for lots of ideas.

On some of the tours we have a few "last minute" deals where we want to make up numbers the next batch should be out later today they need to be confirmed urgently as they are only available till we are notified or at the most the following Friday at those excelent prices.

i.e. last week Magic Carpet departure for 11 July was £559.00 per person for 10 days until 17.00 tonight UK £447.20 starts Istanbul. http://www.fezbus.co.uk/fb/Turkey_Tours_Magic_Carpet.php

I will try to let you know. What the new ones are.

Fethiye is a great holiday destination. Some nice hotels in Oludeniz. Have been many times.

Hi Spanna,

I can recommend Fethiya, it is beautiful and has some lovely quiet villages close by to stay in. You will not be disappointed here.

Thanks everyone, sounds like Fethiye sounds like the place to be! Any more suggestions gratefully received... any hotels there that are particularly good - 6ms, I assume Turquoise Coast is the hotel?? Or is that an area?

Thanks,

Anna.

Akyaka on the gulf of Gukova is excellent - no crowds, nice restaurant, beach and countryside. Only gets busy at weekends when the Mugla locals come down

recommend Akyaka too, stayed at Okiluptus apartments 3 years ago and they were lovely. Very quiet resort, apartments clean with option of eating in restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Try Travelrepublic.com We looked recently and were offered 5* all inclusive for 1 week for 2 people first week in June at £250 for both in Alanya. Ferry crossing from Girne to Alanya was 130TL pp return, not the grotty boat but the fast seacat type.

I can recommend Akyaka too. We have been twice and stayed at the Hotel Yucelen which was right on the beach and very picturesque. We also like Kalkan and Fethiye.
