Hi all,

I am pretty sure that this was a dream of Norman Silver who lived over at Bogaz. Norman was a very enterprising man and did a lot for the local community. Unfortunately Norman tragically died just over a year ago after being stung by a bee in his garden. I am not certain if the ice rink ever opened.

A man who considered forward thinking, Norman Silver.

A Chilled arena would be most welcome on occasions.

The kids would love it .. and the grown ups'.

Remember who said it first when it does appear.

A fitting tribute in his rememberence.

one did open on the lefkosia industrial estate 2007 - it was hysterical because it was real ice - it kept melting - we got very wet! and the surface was uneven - it shut down!

now you cab go famagusta - get to the 1st roundabout and trun left towards the emu uni - there is a brand new synthetic ice ring there with bowling aswell - can't remeber the name but you can't miss it - on the main road on the left - if you are travelling towards the emu with famagusta behind you..

don't go with a hangover - too much noise!

I have been to both as well, yes the one in Nicosia was like a joke it was the size of a small lounge!

I was quite disappointed when I heard that the one in Magusa is of synthetic ice but it was surprisingly good and felt the same! Its just a shame they dont give figure skaiting lessons that would be excellent.
