Gosh Sheila thought you'd have had yours by now - haven't you been there quite a few years? Not much hope of me hearing anything after only one year is there? ha ha..... oh well, patience is a virtue they say!

Doesn't this office exist only in name, esp since the change of government? The UBP are pretty hostile to non-Turks and barely hide their contempt for Brits.

philnes,

Which particular office are you referring to, and why are you emailing them?

If, as later replies seem to imply, you are enquiring about Permission to Purchase, then you should be contacting the Interior Ministry.

If that is the case, don't email them, ring them on 00 90 392 611 1127 and ask to speak to Sevil.

Better still, actually go round there, and make sure that she goes and finds your file, rather than just looking at the computer screen, which can take MONTHS to be updated...

If you're not here, try and get someone else to go and check for you, perhaps when they're checking their own.

Keith.

Hi Keith,

thanks for your reply, very helpful.

I have always emailed them in the past and they have always replied promptly. I will give them a ring today and then maybe pay a visit when the weather starts to cool down.

I also e-mailed them without reply, but phoned my ex-solicitor who phoned them and emailed

me that it has been granted, gave me ref. no. dated March of this year. It was 2 years last

April since I took possession, so I rather think my non-communicative solicitor (ex-partner of

ex-solicitor, if you get me!) has been sitting on it. Try phoning the TRNC office in London.

yes, people say they are generally helpful when you 'phone

remember you'll not always get a prompt reply e-mailing some offices and individuals in england

...and if your uk message was in a "foreign language" the reply could be delayed further!
