Does any expats do airport runs ?

I currently live in Spain and use an expat freind to take me and pick me up from the airport.

As i am going to spend some time in Northern Cyprus soon i wondered if people do airport runs or is it illegal ?

If so how much are we talking roughly Larnaca to Kyrenia ?

Hi Fatnose. You can get a taxi from Larnaca for about £50 + each way, but if you hire a car from one of the hire car companys they will charge anything from £30 - £50. Think you would be better off with hire car company, there are a few good reliable ones. Pacific, Cyprus Pines, Birds ect.

if you hire a car from A1 car rental they collect you from Larnaca for £25 each way and very good but their cars are not so good so make sure you know what you,re getting before you book

We use Sunrentacar.com - speak to Enver, they provide new Mercedes taxis to collect form Larnaca and also hire cars if required.

Good service, reliable and courteous.

I understand that it is illegal to charge for taxi service but I do not understand why expats cannot get together and offer to collect people from the airport in exchange for someone collecting them. Surely a group could get together and organize a routine. I dont mean holiday makers but people that have homes on the island. It would make coming over so much cheaper.

Message 8. yes A1 good price but what they don't tell you is that they also pick up & drop off others in your vehicle too. Ok no prob with that and i guess thats how they can keep the price down but would have been nice to have been told this. Our daughter, son in law and two grandchildren were picked up by them at LCA and in spite of specifically requesting that there be a child seat + booster seat none were supplied for children aged 2 & 5!!!! We e-mailed and complained and although fast responses to previous e-mails when booking up, alas no reply to this one. Hence we will not be using them again.
