I have a limited edition china / porcelain decanter of Scottish Leader Supreme Blended Scotch Whisky aged over 30 years, in a presentation case.

I am going to auction it ! I will make my decision on the offer on or around the 6th of December.

Now I need a certain handsome Dutch gentleman's help! Hans if I send you a photograph of it can you please post it for me. Thanks

Chris

p.s. My best friend Boglefan and her hubby bought this for us as a house-warming present and I ain't told her yet!! Sure she will read it on here.

Just to clarify the money will go towards buying some new equipment as some of ours is well past its sell by date unfortunately. Or if we are lucky enough be able to get some of it fixed before it totally falls apart.

Ok a bit more info

The Scottish Leader 30 year old whisky is one of those rare blends, where character, high quality and age are instantly recognisable in the smooth, perfectly rounded taste.

The Decanter:

On one side there is Eilean Donan Castle - Loch Duich

On another side is Duart Castle - Isle of Mull

Hi Joe,

We are a voluntary organisation made up of UK registered nurses, carers and drivers. If someone is in hospital we will go in and do the things that the nurses here don't do e.g. change the bed and wash the patient. When someone comes out of hospital there is no after care so we do that.(often patient is discharged with injections to prevent DVT and family has never done this before so either we teach them or we do it)

We have a list of DR's physios etc we can recommend. In a nut shell we are bridging the gap that the healthcare system here don't cover. We also have some equipment e.g. wheelchairs zimmers frames, commodes etc which are in a sorry state and need constant maintenance so this is why we are trying to raise money.

We are also available to give advise to anyone, who has a health worry and in need of reassurance or referal to appropriate medical professional.

Chris - what equipment do you need and roughly what would the UK price be for it?

If the C44 members have an idea of a price they will understand the need for a contribution not just giving to a raffle or auction.

Message 25.

For example the commode we have looks hand made, so priced one in the UK new is £185 and that is not top of the range its the bog standard one that is used in UK hospitals!

Chris - please publish your shopping list and prices that you know of I am sure some of us can try to help.

Also as you replace you could possibly donate the stuff that you can't use to SOS or similar for some of the poorer village families who are in a far worse position than most of the expats.

Hi Chris , found a hospital quality commode for £89 00 . I am in work today so i will see how much they are and how much they weigh . They may be cheaper to buy that way . If they not too heavy , perhaps someone very kind and with very little baggage can transport it over . Tell you what , if someone can bring it over i will donate one .

Keep up the good work , Simbas

Some of the equipment not safe so could not donate it to another cause until work carried out on it, and we have been able to replace with new.

Also this is not just for ex-pats a lot of our patients / clients are Cypriot.

Essentialaids.com have a basic stackable commode which can take weights of up to 25st for £38.95 and since you are a charity should be vat free. Don't know how much it weighs tho and how to get it to NC. Will check around on ways to transport it or them.

So here's the bottle one more time: http://is.gd/4WAb2 or here http://is.gd/4WAb2 and here: http://is.gd/4WAb2 . What bottle? Here: http://is.gd/4WAb2 and here: http://is.gd/4WAb2 .

I cannot believe the generosity of people on this forum. Thank you both so much for this kind gesture. I will contact flightholiday tomorrow and see if he knows how we can get them here preferably for nothing.

Again thank you both from the bottom of my heart.

Chris

p.s. And thank you as always to everyone on the forum and especially to my dear friend Hans who is always there to lend a hand and Lilli for storing the equipment free of charge and all her support.

Think that a courteous letter to CTA would be in order .. Any article bought in the UK could be delivered to a particular airport and as the plane is only on the tarmac in Turkey .. Arrangements could be made to collect from Ercan .. Only a thought ..

Just heard back from Jo Valentine and she has agreed to ship them over free of charge and straight to Lapta. But we have to get them to Doncaster????

Not sure where you both live and my geography is terrible but is this possible?

We now have another bottle to auction courtesy of Newscoop.

A bottle of The MACALLAN 12 year old single malt, boxed this would make a lovely Chrismas present.

Thanks scoop.

10 days to go on this now. Might make a good Christmas gift for someone or just for you to enjoy sitting beside the fire on a winters night.
