Do you mean "Sky Multiroom" when you say "2nd room"?

I have been trying something similar and getting quite close. However, EVERY comment made on this subject, keeps stating both receivers need to be connected to the same UK landline at all times. If not you will be billed for 2 packages, instead of 1 package + £10 (multiroom).

You could always buy a second receiver (eBay), leave it here, bring your card and watch most channels except Movies/Sport. if you brought your receiver and card each time, no problems.

Vee123,

I have done what your planning to do, still get a lot of the programs that I had in the UK, also have a 1.8m dish, the box does not need to be plugged into the phone line, cannot get ITV, ge all the sports chanals, a lot of the movies, but not all.

If you have Sky+ HD would you get the HD sport channels on a 1.8m dish?

Vee123, yes it would.

We recently had our sky+ box and card brought over from the UK and have a 1,8 dish and get ITV 1, channel 4, Channel 4 +1, More 4, E4, E4+1, Five, Five USA, Five USA+1, FIVER, FIVER+1 and Sky News.

Plus loads of others.

Iceman fitted our dish.

If I continue to pay my subscription by standing order and don't inform Sky that I have moved out of the UK, would I be able to just plug in and receive all of the chanels on the link in message 3, using just a 1.8m dish?

re message 17, yes you would be able to receive the channels providing it was the same box and card you used in UK.

Vee123 we paid £500 for the 1.8mtr dish (this included fitting and all additional cables, setup etc) and £60 for a sturdy bracket as we are very high up in Esentepe (Esentepe translates to Windy Hill).

Iceman can be found in his workshop in Girne. He is in the same road as the KAR shop but on the opposite side of the road between the petrol station and the fire station.
