Yesterday morning David Pavey (ex-naval person on Cyprus 44) passed away peacefully at home. The funeral is at Lapta Cemetery on Wednesday the 3rd February at 1300.

I met David recently at Guidos in Alsancak where he donated a nebuliser to us, he was a lovely person and will be greatly missed by all.

David was a kind man with an excellent sense of humour and a free spirit. I'll miss his witty remarks, every time we met at the Lambousa Market or elsewhere. On this sad day Trix' and my thoughts are for Kim.

Only met David once but that was enough to make an impression, we found him to be a happy, charming and witty person, our condolences go to his family.

Can';t help Heinz. I want to know where it is so that I can book a spot there. Don;t want to go in the British cemetery in Kyrenia. So, perhaps I should find out before it is my turn to 'shake off this mortal coil' But really sorry I can't help.

Both my wife and I have had the privilege of knowing Dave from when we first came to the TRNC and I can only say that the guy was a diamond and if everyone else had his attitude to life then the world would be a better place. We will sorely miss him.

If you are travelling from Alsancak, take the lapta turning past Sempati hotel, it's the 3rd main Lapta turn on the left hand side. Take the first turning right, go to the top, right again.

Continue un that road, you'll see the Muslem cemetry on your left. Take a left turn,

the Christain cemetry is up there on the left hand side.

Hans. You can also travel on the main Lapta-Karsiyaka road. After the last Lapta turning there is a well known house on your left with two large lions at the entrance. Turn left just as you get to the house right to the top where the greenhouses are. Turn left and travel a short distance and you will see the muslim cemetary where you will turn right and the christian cemetary is at the back of it.

A lovely man, with a great sense of humour. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace, and my thoughts are with his wife Kim, and his family and friends at this difficult time.

Hans - just past Sempati, but on the left side, there is a road that goes back on itself, and then up the hill.Turn RIGHT at the top and follow the road for about half a mile. Cemetery is a short way past the Australian build (very nice villas on stilts). Entrance is on the left side with a nice stone entrance way. There is a big parking space, but this is for the Turkish cemetery. Keep on going up the very muddy road until you come to a very muddy field, with 7 or 8 lonely graves.

Hope you find it. If I'd known what it looked like I would have made other arrangments....

See you there, and afterwards at 15's in Alsancak for a small drink, and a few tears, I'm sure
