Can anyone advise? Little red and black bugs, decimating my daffodils! Are these 'palm beetles'? If so, why are they eating my daffs, and what I can do about it?

Someone once told me to wash the the infested plants with soapy water....worked a treat on my spider plants.

Thanks DD! Are they palm bugs though, do you know? They only appear to be attacking the daffodils, the narcissus and the hyacinths are fine?

Don't worry, daffodils aren't poisonous. It will do them no harm at all.

I have no idea what they are, i just know the soapy water and a gentle cleaning worked on mine. Why not try and google them to find out what they are...?

They sound like lily beetles. They are red and black.Don't know if palm beetles are the same. You have to report them in uk.Don't know who to ! Try to pick them off where ever you see them if you don't want to use insect killer.

Don't worry. It's when your daffs start eating the bugs that you need to watch out!
