Just got back from NC, very enjoyable time and ate twice at the Antique. Excellent food and drink. When ordering, olives and nibbles arrived gratis. Ordered 2 fish and chips, beautiful local fish and big bowl of chips, bread and butter, fresh veg, 2 Efes beers, 42 YTL. Very enjoyable. Would love some local dishes on the menu is my only complaint. Has changed hands recently I believe, so good luck to the owners, we'll be back.

hello peeps,

Afraid we had not such a good experience las week at antique, we were told gengiz used to be at the Esentepe hotel was there working, wrong, he only worked there seemingly for a few days but left, my food was ok but my hubbies was not and the bread was hard as if it had been sitting out, but we will give it another try, the new curry chef at poppin is very good though,

The Antique is always going to one of those places where it is up and down. I enjoyed every visit there and the food was always just what I would expect from that kind of establishment. No stars awarded but always served up hot and in a timely way with a smile. And great views of the sun going down from the terrace.

Anybody know what Al and Robin are up to these days? I havent seen either of them about for a while.

Hi Alison, The Poppin is very handy for me as its opposite where I live! Went for a drink but didn't eat. There was a rumour that an Indian Chef was coming out but hadn't arrived by the time we left. Hope its true as I'm keen on an Indian Curry! Anyone eaten there yet?

Would definitely recommend Poppin - fabulous curry and they do kids food too - so we enjoyed Shrimp and Onion Bharji's then Lamb Curry and Chicken Korma whilst kids had sausages and chips and they were real sausages and not frankfurters and lovely chips! God I need to go back there!

How can they make a decent curry in N.Cyprus when you can't get

fresh ginger? Sorry, but it's essential!

Keep going past Kings Bar, Past Antique Bar on your left.

Coming up on the right as the road goes uphill a little, Medview Bungalows and Appartments on your right and the PopInn is on your left. Top end house at the end of the development. Cant miss it.

we are no experts on curries but we heard all the talk about its curries and have to say they were no better than average as curries go and not exactly generous portions either

The curries we had were lovely and well worth what we paid for them. I agree the sizes were smaller than the UK but we had starters so were full after eating everything. I'm sure I saw fresh ginger at the fruit and veg stall on the road going into Kyrenia.

Hi All,

The Popinn is opposite our bungalow so nice and handy, they do the best Chicken Korma on the island and my portion was so big I couldn't finish it, so maybe it depends on the dish you choose or the person who is dishing it up but I can highly recommend it.
