Re No.3: I think you are wrong on this, it is not there (now, maybe used to be) scrambled or un-scrambled.

Re No.4: Yes, that is the best way and ITV1 is very strong signal here on SKY by adding it to the channels list.

You don't need a SKY sub, just a FTA card.

On Nilesat, Corrie is on the Showtime channels for which you have to pay.

We are bringing our SKY box over but thought we needed to carry on paying the monthly subscription. You said, "You don't need a SKY sub, just a FTA card".

Could you explain please??

Many thanks

astonhilbilly,

A Sky FTA (free to air) card is something you can purchase in the UK to obtain similar programmes to Freeview but in areas where Freeview is limited.

You can get one here before coming to TRNC:

You have to dig deep into the site so I've copied the bit you need:

Q: I already have Sky digital satellite equipment - what else do I need?

A: All you need to gain access to the free channels available on the digital satellite platform is a Freesat from Sky viewing card, which costs just £20. If you’d like to access the interactive services available, you’ll also need a working phone line. To purchase a viewing card please phone Sky on 08448 244 400.

Hi mmmmmm

So is it actually possible to pick up ITV1 with a 1.8m dish now? I thought only a 4.2m dish would get ITV1.

So is it also possible to get BBC1 and BBC2 with the 1.8m too now?

Hello Mark - sounds too good to be true! Just to confirm - you are saying that I only need a 1.8m dish and a Freesat card from UK in order to see all the goodies I have missed for 5 years? I have a Korax Blue Box receiver - will that work?

Thanks in advance

Kimig
