If we booked flights one way to northern cyprus for a few weeks,

Would returnable flights be reasonable booking from Girne travel agents.

Hi sissy,

Nearly all flights are booked single these days. When you need to go back, go to Ankara Travel and they will book your return flight.

We have friends who always book their flights one way. They are retired and have a holiday home in TRNC so, because their time is their own, they book a one way flight out, stay for as long as they feel like and then keep an eye open for a good price for the flight home. Sometimes they return home via Ercan, sometimes Larnaca, depending on prices.

Is it every a problem booking one way to the north then the other via the south? Either arriving via south and leaving via north or arriving via north then leaving via south?

Sometimes that would work better with our dates but havent dared do it as I am sure somewhere I have read that the south go funny as they have you either never leaving or never arriving so how can you leave. If that all makes sense!

If you go on CTA website put the date you want to travel and click on one way you are given the price, then when you want to return do the same, you will find that both the prices add up to the return fare. So no difference.

You have been corectly informed -as a rule the return price is a compound of the two journeys.

Watch out though if your agent has a booking fee it might apply to the booking not to the flights (this is the way we at flightholiday operate no matter how many flights or legs are involved). If it applies to the flights watch that go up.

If you book the whole journey then the airline is more likely to assist you if there are problems or changes involved as they will see you as a better more regular client.

If you are booking from the UK and it is a flight that could be ATOL bonded (i.e. with CTA) if you buy seperate flights you could no longer be afforded the CAA ATOL protection. So pay for a return flight if using them. (This last point does not apply if you book direct as their direct sales are not ATOL.)
