Hi Jeannie,

Got all the air-con remotes on stand by,

Remote batteries charged and ready to go ))

Ice cube trays filled, pool cover on, in case it evaporates :-(

What's 2012 got in store for us then!

"Got air-con remotes on standby" - I'm surprised the things haven't melted!

Pleased to note that you've got your pool cover on, in case of evaporation. I'd hate to think that about 3.00 your time (about now, in fact) the heat would have got to you to such an extent that you just went and threw yourself into the pool. At least this way you'll only land on the cover and not on the tiles

We're out in two weeks. Hopefully the "heatwave" you have described for this evening will have lessened a bit by then!

Regards

Jean

Just had a look and it says 71C for tonight thursday and Friday nights. Sleeping in the pool comes to mind!

Are you lot having a laugh 71C is 160 F which is not possible the BBC weather puts the temperature at Max 32 to 33 C witht he min at 20 to 21 C, Accuweather normally shows the temperature in Degrees F as it is an American based website, I have just had a look and the temperatures are in Fahrenheit 71 F is 21 C

smoggyjim,

I'm sure that Navek knows that!

Did you click on the link? - It is still actually showing stupidly high night-time temperatures - 71°C for tonight, for instance

Accuweather always overstates the temperatures here in the summer, even when they are in degrees C & closer to what they should be. Because it is so inaccurate, I do not use it.

Having said that, BBC is not much better either. It gets the daytime maximums for Kyrenia consistently too high & the night time lows too low & the humidity levels far too low. More like the Lefkosa temperatures at night.

None of the international forecasts are any good. Best bet is to use the ROC meteorological service.

For accurate temperatures for the North coast use the Kayalar weather site & add a couple of degrees for Girne. http://www.nigelheasman.com/wview/img/Current_Plus.htm

Maximum today 29.4c. Minimum last night 24.3c.

Keithcaley,

I did clink on the link as I use the same website but it shows the temperatures in degrees F not C.

Hi smoggyjim,

It was obviously a typo, been sorted now.

We all new it wouldn't get that hot.

Just a bit of friendly banter )))

30c @ the moment, in the shade.

Bit of a breeze, but not much.

Lazy day again
