Turkey are " playing a blinder "as they position themselves. By working towards the rules of The EU, no way commits them to joining. They are keeping a foot firmly in both camps, and that should enable them to negotiate an excellent settlement to The Cyprus Problem. They already have the GCs on the back foot, and

The IPC as the approved way to settle the property issues.

Personally I think they would be mad to join the EU as all that would do is stifle one of the worlds most dynamic economies, but appearing to go down that path, they will keep the Americans and The UK on board.

Christophias must be weeping in his Ouso, as he watches this gameplan unfold.

I posted some days ago that Turkey may be an excellent home for your medium term investments.

Exciting times ahead imho, as always.

Msg 7,Newlad.

Dont loose sight of The Turkish armed forces. One of the best and largest, in that strategically important

area.. Now that would be a prize to be gained, by whoever they select as partners.

Then there is the routes out of the Caspian Basin for oil, to world markets.!

Exciting times.

I am so pleased to be in the TURKISH republic of Northern Cyprus.

I have been visiting Turkey for 25 years and seen it grow up,into a very serious player

on the World stage.

The EU needs Turkey more then Turkey needs the EU.

I trust Turkey to make the right decision, after the EU tries it's best to accept it's membership,

then give two fingers to them !!!

Joining the EU has too many diplomats taking too many fat salaries.

It cannot survive in it's present form

Mike
