Well Tesco sell them - but at £2,820 a kilo I'm thinking they are a tad expensive!

That's right £2.82 for 1 gram.... that's got to be more expensive than saffron which I always understood to be the world's most expensive spice...

Hi Groucho,

I don't know if it's the plant you are looking for, but I bought a curry plant in Ardic garden shop, which smells like curry. It is a small bushy plant with silver grey leaves. Hope it helps.

Mike's right, that is a different plant albeit with a similar aroma... Curry leaves look like small basil leaves... they don't have the frilly edges like the plant I think you refer to.

I have half a pack of a 20g pack of dried curry leaves which you can have and pick up when you're next in Girne. If you're in the UK, the cheapest places to buy them are in the large Chinese/Subcontinent supermarkets.

Email me if wanted.

in the UK I used to get them from the Indian cash and carries. Cheap as chips. (going off point though, chips aren't particularly cheap anymore in the UK. Think last time I had Haddock and chips it set me back best part of a fiver)

www.poyntzfieldherbs.co.uk usually avail. as smaill plants (10-15 cm) may-sept £9 + pp £7 on orders up to £20.

Not cheap. I bought a couple of citronella shoots from them a couple of years ago - one of which is thriving in the garden in Arapkoy - the one I kept in uk rotted. Or if you just want some leave bought out at beginning November and will collect them from me no prob.
