Hi, we just had to replace ours, a few weeks ago. It cost 600tl all in I'm afraid, so not cheap. Apparently 3/4 years is pretty usual, they corrode.

We had to replace ours after a couple years, due to corrosion. Normally it is the seals that go due to corrosion. Few done around our site too, so 4 years seems about right. 600 TL seems to be around the price for replacement.

johndp .

''Surprise surprise'' you can talk sense when you set your mind to it .

I agree it depends on quality and maintainence carried out on the tank .

Does anyone know if water tanks come with any guarantee ?

Have a look at your Cypriot neighbours tanks....................

Yes--- they dont have the cheap metal tanks that the builders love to fit here.

Like your water pump etc. the builder expects you to have to replace with quality ones.

Personally i wish my builder had deducted the money he wasted on sinks, showers, pump and water tank off the asking price of property and i would have fitted them myself.

I have done it all myself anyway, it would have been the cheaper option.

there are 2 types of tank pressurised and non pressurised and there is quite a difference in price so if the builder installed the cheaper one then it wouldnt last as long on a pressure system . 600/650 fitted is a normal price on a pressure system hot water only and expect to pay around 450 for the cold tank ..
