As Polly Marples seems to wish to bring my business into disrepute I have registered on this Forum to protect my interests. I have just sent Pauline an email to say I am saddened to read her post on Cyprus 44.

I acted professionally in my dealings with Pauline but she felt the need to take control of the build of her property and quite frankly caused friction with everyone working on the site. Strangely enough Pauline was very happy to recommend me in October and called me from outside the court when she was with Geoff Day and Peyman Erginel, as a consequence of that call I gave up one evening and two days of my time to help Geoff at no charge. I think Pauline's comments are totally unfair and unfounded and have asked her to retract them.

Pauline called Stuart because she was asked to and still had his number in her phone, that was the only reason. What transprd between Geoff and Stuart, was betwn Geoff and Stuart.

Pauline found out that the builder highly recommended by Stuart had in fact had to underpin the part built house prior to Pauline purchasing it. This was not revealed to her until much later and after the purchase.

Stuart kept pushing Pauline to pay a £2000 deposit to secure the purchase but she resisted this and only paid the full amount on completion. Stuart would not accept the standard of workmanship being given to Pauline on his own kiitchen work and all had to be redone by the same builder, at cost according to Stuart but walked

off the job when the builder told him to and the builder then refused to talk to Pauline. The situation became intolerable and after 5 weeks of no show by the builder, she engaged the services of Danny Bishop with whom she had not one problem and who took no cont..

shortcuts and indeed, according to plan put in an extra 4 inspection chambers to the groundwork, left out by

shortcuts. The level of workmanship given by Mr. Bishop is more than adequate, the level by the

builder recommended by Stuart, far below standard in my opinion.

The fact that every time I voiced my doubts I was met with 'this is Cyprus' did not serve to reassure me of Stuart's impartiality, nor does the volume of work carried on by the builder and Stuart jointly. It seems that the builder is one of the few Turkish Cypriots builder that will work with Stuart.

In conclusion I would ask, Stuart, is your neighbour satisfied with your service and did he engage another surveyor? This is not an accusation, just a question.

He's a top bloke and well deserves a Neg Nick 10 / 10 - you are entitled to your opinion Pauline - but you must be one hell of a dificult punter to have wound stuart up = he's one of the nicest, honest and most honerable people i've met in 4 years in the TRNC.................

i've reccomended him to quite a few pals, all of whom have been smitten...............

Polly, how many battles do you want?

I support you on the property issues but this is different.

cypgab - I did not choose the first battle, I certainly did not choose this one, I said I could not recommend

Mr Hillard, I cannot, that is my opinion. My experience is different to yours apparently, therefore if you think I am being obtuse, carry on. But please do not think I have to agree with you, I do not and you are welcome to come and see why any time.

Thank you for your support on the K5 issue, I am sure this support is not dependent on my lying.

Sorry Nick, but that statement is just plain daft (and I don't mean the "spelling").

Well NIck, you can call my credibility into question all you want, it wont make the fact that I cannot recommend your mate any less valid. I do not recommend him I had a very poor

experience, I have a right to tell of that experience. There is an open invite to inspect the workmanship Mr. Hillard found acceptable. When I get my lap top back, there are loads of photos too.

That you cannot accept my right to my opinion, is okay by me, I accept your right to your opinion, I just don't agree wth it.

Mr Hillard opened this can of worms by demanding I retract my opinion, rather silly of him really, no-one ever gets 100% endorsement.

Jarnac look at walkerscotts post - sound advice. I personally would advise a Structural Engineer which Mr Hillard deinitely is not. Also, very important NO KOCAN - NO MONEY

Frankly, I do not know what you are talking about, if an opinion that is not yours is a battle, so be

it but I think you logic is a little skewed.

Because I do not recommend Stuart does not consitiute a battle, just my opinion based on my personal experience in my dealings with him.

As far as I am concerned, I would never use him or recommend him, end of story. If you choose to make it an issue, you will do so alone. Give you all something to discuss at the next lodge meeting.

I don't know what that means Polly but I have an idea it is a personal dig.

I've been trying to be helpful but it has obviously not been understood that way - my apologies.

Well Polly-pauline,

the last bit pushed you well into the bitter and twisted department. I am not, nor never have been, a mason but to bring that item up as aprt of your attack on Stuart is a comment too far. Yes you are entitled to make your opinion known even if it is in a complete minority or not. To start getting personal to such an extent is more than silly, its puerile.

I have followed your posts on here and in the free press and felt incredibly sorry for you with all your problems. This rant muddies the waters considerably.

Stuart was banned from our site for supporting me and my problems with the developers and I know who I would always like to fight my corner for me. Without his help I would have had an awful lot more problems in my journey in TRNC.

Keep your venom for the nasty people in Cyprus not a guy who is one of the best.

From my experience Stuart is an honourable and reliable professional who knows all you need to know about buildings in Cyprus, and more besides. And the good thing is he will give you his professional opinion and leave it up to you whether you go with him or not, so you know exactly where you stand. And he's not a rip-off merchant either.
