The prices at Dalaman airport are rediculous but tourists don't spend that much time at the airport. In my experience the prices for food and drink in resorts are pretty much on a par with here. Having said that I have just been to Izmir for a few days and the international style restaurants were charging 50TL for a bottle of Angora! Great shopping though to make up for it.

if one wants to moan, one would always find a reason for it.

Went to Hatay earlier this year.2000tl (inc tickets),we've filled up 2 suitcases of clothes which 1 of them I couldnt lift,4 days stay in a hotel (3*),all the food whilst there, and came back with some money in my pocket.

Looking forward to our next trip.

I also used to refuse to eat at uk airports because of the cost but have failed to see one that went bust.

I recently paid £6.00 for a bottle of beer in Cheshire Oaks at a Italian Restaurant, I think an 'average' price for a pint over here is over £3.50.

In July I had family over from New Zealand and they thought the beer was cheaper here.

But isn't it expensive everywhere now?

Msg 4

That's more to do with the strength of the $NZ but how Istanbul Ataturk airport can justify 20TL for 70cl draught Efes is beyond me!
