Health Food Shop, Vitamins, Supplements......

Do we have a health food shop here in the North please? Someone mentioned recently that a Holland and Barratt was opening in Ledra Street, has anyone been there please?

I noticed that in all the Supermarkets here, vitamins or supplements are not sold as perhaps you would find in the UK. Are there any members that may shop for vitamin tabs or supplements ie Zinc etc who could recommend a place to buy these? I appreciate your help. Regards Mrs Snakes.

Mrs Snakes, there is one in Girne High St, if it is still there, also I have seen many of the UK brands in several Chemists. But I think a bit pricey

I order mine on line from Naturesbest in UK and they are delivered here within 7-10 days, bin ordering them for over 5 years never had a problem.

Hope this helps try there website.

I used to order all my stuff from Puritans Pride. They are an American company who supply all over the world, very extensive website and excellent service. Very, very low prices. Unfortunately, the last time I had a package from them, I had serious problems with the customs here. I ended up making about 5 trips to the Government Pharmacy in Lefkosa to get an import licence and they told me then that I would not be able to import anything like this again - only pharmacies could do this. Next time, I ordered them to come to our PO Box in the south and I had a load of trouble there as well - the contents of the parcel had to be inspected by somebody from the Ministry of Health. No duty payable either side but endless hassle. Don't think I'd chance it again unless the regulations have changed here.

The chemist on the same parade in Catalkoy next to Donaghy and beyler have an excellent selection - not cheap but available.

Thanks for all your answers everyone. I also found a shop called LivingWell in a little parade of shops just before the Metahan border which stocks some good supplements.
