Preston North End have sacked manager Darren Ferguson with the club bottom of the Championship table.

The former Peterborough boss, 38, took charge at Deepdale in January, but won only 13 of his 49 games in charge.

A statement on the club website read: "The club expressed their appreciation of the efforts made by Darren.

He had money .. Not many managers today have .. Let alone time ..

your spot on and I have to agree about his dad and how close he came to the sack.

However in the same breath, it took Dalglish a couple or three years and a few Bob from uncle Jack to win owt, that too was money and time that todays manager rarely have .

Am I right in saying Blackburn Rovers are on their 8th Manager since Dalglish, therein lies a major part of the secret to sucess. Or should I say lack of it.IMO.

How you lot doing this season. Maradonna was spotted recently at Turf moor, must be eyeing up next seasons opposition !!!!!.

As for you Derek .. Been there, seen it, done it, got the tee shirt ..

Dalgleish inherited a team in the depths of division 2 .. Bought 2 or 3 players, 1 or 2 free transfers & finished 4th the first season of the Premiership, 2nd the next season & won it the 3rd ..

Then reality set in .. All the big clubs came sniffing & Rovers being a smaller club than Burnley .. LOL .. Had to sell to survive .. Survive we have for the last 10 years ..

Oh .. How many of the 8 managers were sacked, a few went on to bigger clubs ..
