Mitsubishi L200 needs a service any good mechanics in the Alsancak area (prefer a basic knowledge of English)That are resonabley priced

Try Sam from 'Sam's Place', bar, Alsancak. They've just opened a new servicing centre for cars not too far from his restaurant/bar.

Green Garage did a good service on ours. The engineer didn't speak English but his boss did. Even brought me back home after dropping the car off and picked me up again when it was ready.



Even fixed the drivers window which I thought would have cost quite a lot more free.

Jaybee, you are in Alsancak, Ziggy is in Alsancak - and comes highly recommended.



Ziggy speaks perfect English - he had his own garage in Kent before returning to Cyprus.



I've used Ziggy a few times now, servicing and parts replacement. Excellent service and he charges modestly too. I'll hope to be using Ziggy again and again in the future.

I would concur with all re Ziggy.

But with one caveat and that is he is a 'nuts and bolts' man and as such he has no diagnostic equipment for interrogating engine management systems. Where he is at home is stripping down engines to replace damaged or broken parts. He stripped down and replaced all 16 valves on my car after the timing belt broke and this is where his forte is. He can be a bit brusque some times but he is a very likeable chap and some problems I have had he has sorted out at no cost to me (dont ask about the MOT!)

Hi flowerfairy

The garage behind what used to be Friends Hotel in Alsancak, just down from Seveners restaurant can do everything. A lot of the car hire companies use them. There is always a couple of guys there that speak English. They are always busy but will always fit you in at the drop of a hat.

With regards to my MOT, I took my car to the MOT station first thing one morning and the inspector had a look around the car (lifting up the bonnet etc) and within 2 or 3 minutes he told me that the car had failed. He explained that the car was too dirty and the exhaust pipe was too long! So I drove back to see Ziggy and he put the car up on the ramp and took an angle grinder to the exhaust pipe and when the car was back on the ground he fired up his pressure washer and gave the car a wash and wax. He told me also to get the car back down to the MOT station before the inspector had forgotten the reason for failure!. I asked Ziggy how much I owed him and he said forget it!
