Many thanks for the information, I do not think it would be the belediye but tomorrow I will go down and ask if they are doing anything.

It was my dogs that were poisoned, The Boys or hooligans, as known in the area did not stand a chance, as it was so near the track. Nicely laid out on plastic, but as there is so much rubbish up there i paid no attention to what they were racing towards. They reacted within crossing to the other side of the path. Thanks to all who came out with the salted water, glad you were home David you probably saved their lives.

For those who do walk the frightening part it was between the pylon and water pumping station, a place where I have always felt safe and the other side of the ravine far more cautious as the goats are secured there.

Thanks to petcross

Remember it is lambing season and while racing to the vet did see the lad who watches the sheep with a dead lamb. no excuse BUT

Why oh why dont you put a muzzle on your dog whenever its out of the house? Ok it may not like it but surely its better than poison?

Some years ago I lost my Golden on the North York Moors, savaged by a pack of roaming dogs! This was in the lambing season when I always used a muzzle on the gold because of poison put out across the wild stretch's - and please don't tell me it is never used in the UK, it is but only in remote areas where foxes etc abound.

If the gold had not been muzzled it could have fought back but it did not stand a chance and it was all over in seconds before I could get to it.

Never again I am sorry to say, now I walk them (pointers) off the lead and watch everything they do - just as you would with your kids. It is the best I can do for them to let them have a free and as safe as possible life.

Is there NO-WHERE where you can walk a dog safely? This is so depressing. I do hope your boys make a speedy recovery.

I thought they were safe on leads admittedly 5m and especially in the area when full of beans I would let them off in the past. Passed the pylon I am more aware due to the goats. The Border collie being a totally different character is always off the lead generally with a stick in his mouth but to date he has pointed out poison but not actually eaten any. Being snappy I am totally unable to muzzle him and he has to take the risk. Having three large dogs (adopted not chosen) and living in the village i walk in the mountains to prevent upsetting neighbours who have dogs in cages or tied up plus i find it more enjoyable as i am more in charge and less to worry about (human & other pets).
