I don't think you will have much chance of getting either, in good condition, for £5k. Although you would get an SLC in the UK for this price you have to factor in the import duty which is based on the original purchase price of the car (about £15k for our 1979 SLC). Nearer £10k and you may be lucky.

That's a great price if the car is in good condition. Someone should definitely snap it up.

I have a 1984 500sl red with hardtop aircon and all the goodies no rust was in the south for most of its life then brought back to uk.The customs want 50% of the price new in 1984 so min £17,000 import. The car is worth £12,000 here even a rusty sl complete will sell for £3000 FOR PARTS.As an example front bumpers will fetch £400 good interiors £1000,Hardtops £500 amg wheels £600.And the cost of renovating as most are rusty to a degree anything up to £12000.The last sl sold in girne fetched £24000 that was last year.A triumph stag 1974 mustard colour was on sale in november it sold for £14250.If you try tam cars in girne he has a couple of sls for sale but not at that price. He is near the nicosia roundabout.Good luck Three of us are bringingour sls out this year so the customs will be pleased.

It still comes down to supply and demand,so if you want to sell you have to take whats on offer.

You are correct so if you find any good ones at £5000 I,ll give £6000 and take as many as you can get I know many serious collectors back here that appreciate the marque.
