You can view their brochure online, get directions (not far from crossing point Metahan ignore spelling!).

I undertand there is a personal limit of 200 e per person but, if this is flaunted whilst going through customs I'd be surprised if you had any problems.

Guess normal things to avoid would be fresh produce, plants, electrical items and so on .....good luck.

though ...it has to be said, there are still loads of smaller but equally interesting shops in the North that would no doubt welcome our custom...just my thoughts!

Hi Dreamy, 135 euros is the allowance, I think. Ikea purchases will be confiscated if you are caught with them.

thanks philnles, I'll make a note of that though to be honest, I'm quite happy to spend my time and money in the North....but I do appreciate that sometimes we all need to spred our wings a little further!

Thanks philnles but we are not over until July 15th we just want to buy a few bits and pieces that we cant find in the North, we have bought everything else here.

There would be a good business for someone to act as a chaperone, it took me two trips driving all over the place to find stuff we liked

If we went on our own, we would get lost and buying the insurance is hassle

MikeyCBBR the Green line regulations stipulate what items may or may not be taken across the "border", furniture theoretically is a No.

They can confiscate it because the allowance is for your personal use (the customs officers do not consider furniture as personal use items) Strange that, when the stuff is going into your home, cannot really get more personal than that.

I prefer to shop in the North, really hate going South at all, but if I honestly cannot buy what I need here then I will do it. I do not think over the years that even 1% of our money spent has gone to the South.
