It's nearly time to get the electric blanket out and aired, there is a distinct chill in the air now in the late evening don't you think. Got light weight duvet on now but that will be gone soon and winter one in it's place. I hate Cyprus winters. They are definately longer than the brochures lead you to believe before you take the big jump to come over lock stock and barrel. Or maybe my blood has thinned down in the normally hot climate. Get those gas bottles filled and the logs ordered or chopped. Oh and only 52 days to Xmas. Ho ho ho.

If you go back to Uk or have visitors coming out they could always bring over, I got mine from Wilkinsons only 20 quid for a double which is adequate even for king size bed,nothing wrong with cuddles atall, just helps remove that damp feeling which comes with the humidity here. Also I wouldnt wish my hubby's plates of meat on anyone,they are like frozen cod fillets.

the sevret is send wife to bed 15 mins before you go she warms bed get in put cold feet and other bits on here and save on leccy bill.

Quick question, our chimney is of the new type (Blocked off at the top but with 1 square hole on each brickwork course). If we have an open fire will there be enough draft/pull to allow the smoke to go up the chimney ?

the chimney only works well in certian situations.

it will matter where your house is situated.

top of mountian or right at the bottom is not good for an open fire.

something we learnt from a house in the uk, which always had probs with the open fire.

if it is not working properly it can be quite dangerous with the fumes.

light it and see would be my advice.

lots of places stock gas heaters. The one I went to is on the road leading to the Colony Hotel from Lefkosia roundabout, just after Atanco shop its on left. Sells sofas bedding etc,think mine was 180-200 ytl plus about 18-20 for a regulator.Tin pan alley worth a look or Arcelik

And as advice for us ladies , who are to warm the beds for our partners...., there/s always the good old fashioned hot water bottle to tide us over....are they for sail in the TRNC??!!!

Was swimming in the pool last Nov. (mid) getting cold in the water then.

The temperature is reaching almost 30% over there and not dropping

much below 20% if forecasts are right. Never felt the need for electric

blankets, even here in Scotland, but agree with Augusta, something very

comforting about a hot water bottle.
