Directions to Car Registration Building, Lefkosa

I have just bought a car and need to register it, could anyone help with directions to the car registration building in Lefkosa coming from Girne. Thanks

Unless it has been moved-into Lefkosa turn left as for the government offices(look for jeep dealership) first right and look for the big carpark on your right walk accross carpark to the far left hand edge its there . If not then it is in the same area take your logbook with you and asksomebody.

Hi Hippo, Thanks for that but being a non resident, I do not know Lefkosa very well. Where are the government buildings you refer to? Do I carry straight on at the roundabout at the end of the Girne-Lefkosa highway, and past the large state hospital? until I see a Jeep dealership?

Sorry -yes straight accross roundabout past hospital keepgoing dont deviate keep looking for the jeep garage it is on the corner the road there has a lane that turns right, just keep in left and filter left. I am sure there are other landmarks but i just cant remember if i have to go then i am in autodrive.

Hippo's directions are correct, but another "landmark" would be the KK Turkcell building.

So to recap:

- When coming from Girne, go straight over the "S**t-on-a-Stick" roundabout

- Go straight over the hospital roundabout

- Go straight over the next two traffic-lighted junctions (Ortakoy and Dereboyu respectively)

- About 200 metres from the second traffic-lighted junction (the Dereboyu one), on your left you'll see the blue KK Turkcell advertisements on the KK Turkcell building/shop. Turn left immediately after Turkcell.*

- After turning left, take the first right (it's about 200 metres from the Turkcell building)

- After 50 metres you'll see the said carpark.



* Actually the Turkcell building is on the corner of the road you turn onto.



By the way, if coming by dolmus ask the driver to stop at the Cyprus Turkish Airways building - the car registration place is right behind there.

Hippo's directions would place you at the interior ministry, immigration, etc. He's got you turning left a couple of hundred yards too soon.

I think Hippo's directions are OK - he said go straight-straight-straight until you see a "jeep dealership" on the right ... and there is indeed a car dealership opposite the said left turn.

I have just taken the scooter out for a spin, and the "jeep dealership", that Hippo refered to, is in fact an infertility clinic ... that has some very expensive cars parked in front of it ... and the said left turn (from the "mini-bus road") is opposite there.

Just to confuse things further the Jeep dealership being referred to (by the traffic lights where you turn left for the government buildings) is no longer there so probably best not to use it as a landmark in future.
