My advice for what its worth take an interest in your customers ALL of them not just family, pay your staff, pay your staff a decent wage,If they have worked a month pay them for a month.Have good produce local if poss make sure the food reaches the plate warm and edible,do not treat the customers as if the are lucky you let them eat in your place.be in a good mood when you are at work.Have a business plan yes a BUSINESS plan most do not.Remember the customers meet your staff so make them happy PAY them.

If you ask around most places are up for grabs... all are struggling, think NC needs other businesses to start up, not another restaurant..... all the best...

Don't make the tragic mistake that the London Cyps that built 'Sinatra's' [Karolanoglu/next to Bektash Supermarket] did.

Goodness knows how much money these unfortunate folks must have lost. They would not listen to advice and decided to site their 'al fresco' dining on the road frontage. Many people tried to support them, but to sit there eating 'food' of which 'every mouthful was more than a bit of a concern', and with traffic roaring past , belching exhaust fumes, and being almost suffocated in clouds of road dust, was more than anyone could cope with. Consequently, having spent serious money buying the land and building the house and restaurant, they went bankrupt in about three months.

Had they made a nice little beer garden and restaurant at the rear of the house and not tried to serve mainly 'trad Cyp' fayre, they would have very likely now have a booming business. They went bust through simply bad planning - all against the sound advice they'd been given.

Sad...

I suggest you take a serious look at 'Sinatra's' - with the right planning, dining area, menu and music, this could be a top venue for diners because it's so central, accessible, and has ample parking. It also has excellent family accomodation from what I saw.

In my previous post I did not wish to criticise the owners unfairly, and it was most unfortunate that this potentially excellent restaurant failed as a business, because the owners put so much capital and hours and hours of hard work into the whole complex.

Of all the restaurants and bars that come and go, I'm sure that 'Sinatra's' has lasting potential - it definitely has 'that special something'!.
