We bought a resale property and need to change the name on the electric bills, I have been told by a neighbour that they charge a ridiculous amount of money but she did not know how much.

Does anyone know how much they charge?

What documents do we need to take with us ?

Thanks for any help

From My understanding, a non TC has to pay a deposit of 700 - 900TL for the meter, i would imagine that you need your Kochan or sales contract, or just call into the office, desk on the left as you walk in, they are quite helpfull.

I have just bought a property and changed the electricity account into my name a week ago. It cost 290 Turkish lira and it is not an actual charge for changing the account name, it is a refundable deposit on your new account which will be refunded on termination of your contract (property sold or rented out). It is important to keep the original receipt. You will need a copy of your sales agreement or Kocan (and passport I think - it was week ago!). Initially you need to go into the Kibtec on the first floor and they will help you.

When we changed our account from the land owner to ours last year, we paid 200 and something lira, can't remember the exact amount. This was then set against our next bill, or two as it happened. It was like making an advance payment. Not a problem at all.
