I don't suppose there will be any takers, but it's worth a try.



We are looking to sell our bungalow in Catalkoy. It's a lovely property, older more traditional in style with nice established garden and private pool. It's a reluctant sale as our jobs are moving and so we have to move with them.



The thing we'd like to try and sell sooner rather than later, but we probably won't be leaving the insland until about July 2009. So, the proposition is that if someone out there was looking to buy a property as a holiday home or as a rental, we would be willing to sell now and rent it back until we move next year. That would give us the peace of mind of having the house sold before we move but not having the hassle of renting another house here in the meantime.



Sorry if that doesn't make sense, but I know what I mean. If anyone thinks there is some mileage in this please drop me a line on tinyredkitt@aol.com

it's commonly called "sale and leaseback)..



It is a good idea, a lot will depend on how much you want for the property and what the potential rent will be, to see if it stacks up.

Thanks Nick, I appreciate your response. That scenario is the "ideal" one for us, particularly as this is such a heartwrenching move. It will be hard leaving our home to move into something else here knowing that we will be moving again!



But obviously if someone out there just wants to buy it without us staying on then of course we would move out.



By the way, just thought I'd mention it's not in the village or up the mountain, it's in a very nice area on the sea side. No building work in the immediate vicinity and very nice neighbours!
