Hi there

Looking to possibly go to Dubai in June/July as can get reasonable accommodation, however when i search for flights they are either very expensive or very long journey times - not sure i asm searching right. Can anyone advise about the most cost effective way of getting to Dubai - ie airlines, travel agents, different stops on flights etc.

Many thanks

Becky,

There are probably many other web search systems for flights but the one I use is

We travel to Dubai from Larnaca, look at Gulf Air, very reasonable. One stop in Bahrain for an hour or so. Used to fly Emirates but they have gone expensive. Look on http://www.amadeus.net for flights.

The Emirates flight is the only direct flight that I am aware, it basically goes to Malta via Larnaca and returns same day.On return it leaves Dubai at about 0800hrs and arrives Larnaca about 1130hrs

Beirut has a lot of flights to Dubai but then the 40 minute flight is not cheap!

Istanbul is the same.

I know as I have had to try all of these when having to transit through Dubai as working in Middle East.

Thanks so much - just checked it out and found better flights - we are a family of 4 and looks like we can get them for approx £1100 with a reasonable travel time. I have found a discounted stay at Atlantis, Dubai so im working it all out and trying to convince the Hubby now - wish me luck - im gonna need it ; ) !

Etihad flights to Abu Dhabi are usually cheaper than Emirates. There is of course the cost of car hire/transport to Dubai to consider.

Gulf Air are usually very cheap if you book well in advance. You would have to connect in Bahrain for the short flight to Dubai.

Don't know if Cyprus Airways still do Dubai Larnaca.
