I bought a large 1.8m dish recently, that requires installation towards sky UK.

Have a friend in the UK who installs but he's not over till later this year.

If anyone can install at a "reasonable price" please let me know.

Try Acip in Lapta. He's reasonable and deals in installing Sky dishes. Sorry I don't have his number.

It's because you are dealing with a proper business. We all have to pay our dues and demands here and it's very expensive. Anyone who is in business here knows what gets paid each month and if you have work permits as well it's even more expensive.

I had sky with a 1.8m dish but it began to give me bother with freezing during bad weather and not being able to get ITV after 9pm along with the cost, and now no BBC.

I now use my laptop with the internet going through my tv, and get BBC, ITV, Sky Go and many other channels on the net, which gives me live sport, films etc etc for a cost of around 70tl pm.

I have now even cancelled digiturk, as I find it a waste of time and not cheap anymore, with all the repeats.

@ tarry67 - when you say you can access Sky Go via your laptop, do you still have a contract with Sky to be able to access that?

mozgor anyone with a sky subscription will get access to sky go, thier online service, as part of that subscription. In addition if you do not have a sky subscription you get get "Sky Go Monthly Ticket" to just get access to sky go the online service. Either way you access sky go, via an existing subscription account or via their 'montly ticket' you will need to appear as if you are online in the UK by using a VPN service or similar. There is some info here and prices for the different 'monthly ticket' options.

To install the dish should be more than £80. He has to travel to you using his diesel. install the dish and align it to the appropriate satellite. It isn't a 5 minute job if you want it done properly and it isn't cheap running a legit business here. We would all like to do it for 'beer money' but we can't.

I use Acip everytime. He is excellent. You get what you pay for and if you want it done properly with the right alignment etc. then you need to pay for the service.

Mozgor

I think Erolz has answered the question in enough detail, although I use my sisters account in the uk, and I am logged on as a secondary user which is ok.

Thanks to Erolz and tarry67 - you both answered my question. We do have a full Sky subscription in the UK at the moment and was wondering how tarry67 was able to access Sky Go without a full subscription, but now I understand
