I have just spoken to our bank Garanti and they tell me the Lira interest rate account has dropped to 13.5% is this general

I think this follows on from a 2% cut in interest rates in Turkey. And I think there may be more cuts to come.

I think most have dropped by 1% which is not a disaster at the moment. It had too come eventually we have all had a good run. Just need too stay in for a couple of nights too compensate.

when centrel bank drop down the rate all bank effected.



new interest rate in trnc centrel bank;



TL 12,60

Dolar 0,05

Euro 1,25

Sterlin 0,75



last interest rate



19.01.09 --- 12,60

22.12.08 --- 14,50

28.11.08 --- 15,75

14.11.08 --- 16,25

very reasonable, if the central bank is giving these rates, how can other banks give higher rates???
