Horseshoe Bay is home from home for many British people, a pebbly beach! The pebbles are ideal for idly stacking into piles or making into minor works of art, but not great for young children’s feet or boredom threshold. There is good snorkeling for adult swimmers, and a convenient beach restaurant for the midday meal and glass of cool beer. In North Cyprus, history is never very far away away; Horseshoe Bay is also close to the only Persian palace remaining in the Mediterranean, at Vouni.
