I think you will find it is Friday 27th March at the Rocks. 80 tl for 5 course meal and all local drinks, well worth going to and a worthy cause to support.

The 112 Ball was a huge success.

The organisers are to be congratulated - let's hope lots of money was raised for the most worthy of causes.

What a pity the majority had to suffer the effects of a section of the Ballgoers who insisted on smoking in the Ballroom - pity on them too, they will probably suffer the effects of their disguting habit in later life, but why do they inflict the possibility of a life threatening disease on others?

Ironic that the event was to support a life-saving charity.

Still, a wonderful night out, here's to next year.

A 1950's sweet cigarette, maybe; in those days, as children we were encouraged to smoke - perhaps we now know better...

... and did you ever here of 'licence'?

Ever since I lost my hair serving the Queen (sic) I've been known as Bilko. Phil Silvers, an accomplished US actor played the part on TV - did you ever see him in Arthur Miller's 'Death of a Salesman'. Brilliant. He never smoked, but died of lung cancer.

Like dear departed entertainer Roy Castle, he never smoked in his life, but died from lung cancer, caused by inhaling smoke in clubs so as to play his trumpet!

If you smoke, give it up, why pay good tax payed money to kill yourself, and others to?

Rant over - great 112 Ball.

Agree with you totally Bilko, don't smoke, never have, like my friend who died at 48 from lung cancer, it is leathal. The ball was excellent, best they have arranged so far, chance to dress up, although touch and go if dress would fit. They should have it a month later when we ladies can loose an inch or two with salads, and get a tan to show off our shoulders etc!!!!
