The EU has some decidedly shakey new members some of which are in the Euro zone. If things keep going the way they are we may see the Euro slide more than a little. Better to wait till the exchange rate improves first before we consider joining.

A few of the countries in the Euro Zone have spoken out as saying joining up to the Euro was the worst thing - they would not mind going back to their own currency.

Given a vote (and the EU will not allow it) most countries would ditch the Euro at the drop of a hat, a complete failure and counter productive currency

RE msg 8, turtle >>> Given a vote (and the EU will not allow it) most countries would ditch the Euro at the drop of a hat, a complete failure and counter productive currency <<< ===> But..., Turtle! Only five years ago it was 1 GBP to 1,5 Euro. Now it's only about 1:1!!! Only Brits understand that the GBP is doing fine - some 650 million people in the EU ("bloody Continentals") are to stupid to understand...

I think we as a country are in to much debt to be allowed to switch to the euro at this moment in time, Paul.
