I went to the support forums re the platform they use and can't find any mention of "issues"... very odd..

phpbb is the opensource software used by millions of people



phpbb88 is a service that offer people pre configured easy to set up phpbb based forums.



phpbb88 has been flaky for the last few days to be honest. Iwas getting error 500's yesterday which is a server error.

It seems a slow death this morning. first I had a Private Message but no "Reply" button. then I noticed that I could not delete any messages, so I knew that something was fishy. I hope the trouble does not last long.

That is the problem with using such a free service. It is their forum and their service and very few guarantees. Then again it is free and easy to use.



If it does turn out that the problems are more long term and you think about moving elsewhere then drop us a line. I can set you a phpbb3 on some webspace I have if you need it. It also might fall over on occasion but at least you will know the person you need to moan at when it does ;)

I appreciate the smiley but feel I have to say if I hosted it I would not be involved in the running of the forum at all.



On forums that I run I would not ban Macha. On the forum that I do run (as well as host) there is no censorship and no banning of people. On the forum I run there are rules and posts that breach these rules are 'quarantined' - that is put in an area away from the thread they statred in and whihc futher posts can not be added to, but that are still publicaly viewable by members. Thus nothing is removed only moved. All members can see exactly what has been moved and can question the movement. Persistent breaking of the rules will lead to suspension but not bans. Suspensions will increase over time but still no bans. The only thing that will get you banned is trying to bypass a suspension by using a new ID.
