Insurance at Pile Crossing

Hoping to go South on Saturday, can anybody tell us if we can get car insurance there on a Saturday.

Is the Insurance Office situated on the northern or southern side of the crossing.

yes - but remember you can't get MOT form from there, so if you haven't been south before, you'll have to cross via Metahan...

I've been through the Beyarmudu/Pyla crossing at the dead of night south to north and north to south and the Insurance Booth on the north side was shut. I think they are open until 10pm.



The insurance booths are always on the side you are crossing to... So Daffy, it's on the south side.



I have never been asked to produce proof of 3rd Party insurance at this crossing.

You can phone Ribeya, she does the insurance, and make arrangements with her to meet you at the booth. She lives above the coffee shop that is in between the GC and TC sides. Her numbers are TC. 05428743961 or GC. 0035799355438. She speaks broken English but you can usually make her understand enough.

I concur with Msg 4. The only crossing at Pyle is the UN Crossing. The crossing point is in Beyarmadu or Pergamos, depending on which way you are crossing. Why does everyone insist on calling it the Pyle/Pile crossing?

Hi daffy,

Neg Nick is quite right when he says you can only get the MOT at Metehan. BUT you want to go on Saturday..... they dont open for MOTs on a Saturday!! only Monday to Friday. I tried to do that trip in April and wasted all Saturday morning!
