Is there anyone who can tell me what the weather is like late October?

I am thinking of visiting 24th Oct for a week with kids.Is it still sunny? Is the sea warm?

Are the hotel pools warm?

Can anyone recommend a hotel with kid facilities or at least where other kids visit in October?

Is kyrenia open at that time or is it shutting down?

Thanks in advance!

Carrie

it can be warm it can be really cold (14C) unfortunately it is different every year so no real answer available. Why not go on line and find an hotel with an indoor pool and hope for the best. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Hi Carrie

Like yourself we can only travel during school holidays and have been visiting Kyrenia during the October half term holiday for the last 6 years. We've never had cold weather and have always been able to spend time on the beach, in the sea and in the kid's case in the swiiming pool - a little too cold for me! Yes the temperatures are normally probably only in the early 20's and you can get some rain - but we still have a typical beach holiday and return home with a tan to face the winter. As for Kyrnenia there's no sign of anything closing down - most of the restaurants are still offering outdoor seating although it does get darker much earlier in the evening.

Sorry can't help re hotels.

Friends of mine who are elderly swim in the sea until early Nov. usually

and they think Oct. is one of the best months there. Have swum in the pool

early Nov. but it's a bit cool, sea is warmer as it has absorbed the heat of summer.

Weather is still lovely, and have never known it cold in all the years have been there.

Normally, the weather changes on about the 12th - 14th October - it's a regular occurence. I used to work on the watersports and we pulled our boats out on that date every year, as high winds, or storms are liable to strike then. If you are coming from UK/Northern Europe, you would still probably find the seawater warm enough, but not unheated pools.

The sea temperature is still warm as it only slowly cools down after summer and is fine in late October to early November. Pools cool much faster so unheated ones are probably a bit too cool on average by the end of October.
