I watched that programme too last night. Used to enjoy watching his unusual cookery programmes and have a book of his recipes given by one of my sons. Recipes from all over and he even has one for Cullen Skink! Sad, but he hastened his death by his drinking.

It was so sad to see the man looking so old and pickled on C4 last night. His torment with his daughter was hurting him greatly. He was great to watch in the 80's Cheers Keith.

He was the best of the TV chefs and started it all really..at least after the Galloping Gourmet. He also ventured into France before this cooking TV lark took off, and started restaurants and lived the life. A real character and one who enjoyed life to the full even if the he died relatively young. RIP Chef!

I watched him on TV last night and he looked an old man, so it was a shock to read he he had died but was only 65. I agree all that smoking and drinking had taken it's toll on him but he seemed to enjoy life and lived it to the full. Four ex wives and being estranged from his children wouldn't have helped his health though, so I hope he made it up with them before he passed away. The butlers wife

Always remember him cooking a steak by wrapping it and tying it to the exhaust of a vehicle while driving through a desert! Hope his daughter managed to forgive him (some of us have had to forgive a lot of our fathers!) It's too late now if she didn't

The best tip I ever picked up from him was about wine and he said "If it is not good enough to drink it is not good enough to cook with". In other words if it is crap ditch it. RIP Mr Keith Floyd. He loved life!

It was his human frailties that made so endearing... I would have loved to have shared a bottle with him
