It is with the saddest regret and the sadness that i have to announce the death of max. He was killed at 4pm today by a truck. He was on his walk with Guido when he spotted a cat and turned. The truck hit him head one . He was gone in an instance. I have been in shock all day as has Guido. Two minutes before I groomed him, telling him how much i loved him. I cannot tell you how I feel and those that know me will understand. I had him for a short time but he wil be in my heart forever. RIP MAX I really loved you xxxxxxxxxxxx Mummy

You never failed him Liz. Sh*t happens. No-one to blame. If you had walked him we could have all been grieving for not just Max. I know how it feels when GS takes owners for walks I had to get Sheba a special harness to get her to walk with me. Yes, ok to have a cry but no blame on either you or Guido's head. My thoughts are with both of you. XXX

Oh Lilli...if there's one thing I am certain of is that you did not fail that little chap. He knew he was loved and cared for. You cannot blame yourselves in any way. He was just doing what dogs do...it was simply a mixture of his misadventure and very bad timing. Nothing you or Guido can feel responsible for at all. His little life was much happier because of what you did for him, and if it had not been for you he probably would have died much sooner, starving or poisoned and alone. You were his angels. Big hugs xxxxx

Whistler thank you. You know how much I loved him. I am going around in my head trying to piece it all together. I cant get my head around it. Twice this week some one has. some one he knew let him off the lead. Did he move from mtystep NO. then he did yesterday. He would only do that if he knew that person whom we sacked. Im not suggesting anything all these thoughts are in my head

Kitty you are so right about timing. We had an argument about who should walk him. G wanted to go home and I shouted I will take him. He did the deed and had to come back and tell me he was dead. My head is playing all sorts of what ifs right now

He arrived on me on deaths door but we came throght it.I used to dance with him every day and i am all of 8 and a half\ stone he could floor me but there we were every day dancing to opera which he loved. His long legs around my waist. We loved those moments. He truested me and loved me unconditionaly which I did him. He would lay on my lap and smile at me. Ok i only looked after him but by god did i love him xxxxxxxxxx He taught me more than I could ever teach him. I will miss him of course but his life will not be in vain xxxxxx |

How very sad Lilli , i'm so sorry to hear of this , i know how much you both loved that dog , and he loved you , you could see that in the way he responded to you , but at least Max had a loving caring home while he was with you , totally unlike the poor emaciated , unhappy soul that turned up on your doorstep . Take comfort in the fact that you gave him such a happy life while he was with you . You have nothing to reproach yourself for , unfortunatly bad things just happen . Kind regards , Simbas

Liz What can I say when you rang me distraught I knew straight away in my heart it was Max (gut feeling) Just Think this way GOD must have guided him all the way to your place, where he knew he would find love if only for a short time, he had the BEST PERSON who could have taken care of him the best she knew how. No regrets just think of the happy times, Max is with the other doggies now getting loads of wet kisses See you later no blame to anyone. Sheila xx

My god, I can't believe it. I was only in there an hour before and we were saying how good he was, and waiting for Jan to come back and take him. So distressing, but at least he had liz's love and care before he went, it could have been so much different, as he could have died alone and in misery. Tragic.

Lili, I hope this gives you some comfort, the story of rainbow bridge Rainbow Bridge Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass,

| cont'd faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together... | Oh my lovely Lilli. I know how you feel. My little Oscar a "credit crunchie" male cat turfed out by the wicked repossessed people up the road came to live with us. He was so thin and ill. He slept in the garage for a few weeks with a nice cozy Bed (made up by me) and then he ventured into the house. How he grew, in size and personality. A lap cat from a stray. He was so lovely. We thought he was gorgeous, and loved him loads. He fitted in so well in our household. Naughty but nice. In mid Sept he did not come home. I looked for him day and night all around his favourite haunt, the duck pond. He loved a bit of a swim! I put posters out and posted them through letterboxes. Still no sign. I had days off work looking for him. A week after he went missing I found him, he had been run over and some kind sole had picked him up and put him under some undergrowth. He found me, and I found him. Now he is at peace in the garden. RIP MAX AND OSCAR XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX |

Dear Lilli I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard losing that 'special friend' who totally give you their heart. He is now at 'Rainbow Bridge', where all the sick or maimed animals go. They run free, perfect again, they then stop and look and that is where their 'special person' in their life joins them, forever reunited again. When I lost my first 'special boy', and I have lost 3 more 'special babies since'. I know now that they are altogether and waiting for me at Rainbow Bridge. I hope that this makes you feel better. Hugs to you and Guido. xxxxx

Lilli I am so sorry to hear your sad news, I am writing this with tears in my eyes. My daughter's cat was run over recently but she didn't know for 10 days, it was so sad. Like you she kept blaming herself and saying what if? When an animal takes a piece of your heart it hurts so much when they are taken away from us, but Max had a lot of love in the last few months and you must remember all the good times you shared together.

Hi Lilli I am glad Catalkoy Kid managed to get you the link, it really is beautiful, I hope it helped you. I still open up that poem now and again when I feel the need. You can also go on the Rainbow Bridge website and add Max to it. I have Scobie, Megan, Sweepy and Shani added on it. I found that also helped me, adding them on. Funny really how the little things help. xxx

Hi Alex. I really do beleive these things. The other day I was crying about max and it was remberance sunday. I said to my waitress please forgive me if anybody comes in now can you deal with it as I have to observe my two minutes silence. After the two minutes I payed that max was Ok and asked for a sign. I walked back into the restaurant a a great tuft of his hair landed at my feet. We were all gobsmaked as the place had been bleached and disinfected. It blew in from the door like it was on a wind. Everyday I get litttle reminders from hi,. His photo moves to meet my eye etc. What ever reason you went for and I hope neither of you were bereived take hope. I know he is around me and I know he will proctect me. Alex two months i had the bag of bones who turned into prince charming but the bond between me and him was so strong. My customers adored him and they had the love back. Cagney will always be in your heart and you in hers his.I bought him a virtual memorial and sad as it may see

sorry seem it has helped me. The good wishes I have received from people who lost pets is amazing. Max was going to be transient to me as all others I care for. Once they are found homes then my job is done. I knew the longer Jan left it to take Max I may not have let him go. I am heartbroken beyond belief as I still think why did they walk that way and not or normal route etc all the blame lies with me.One week tomorrow and he is still being talked about so beleive and take comfort. I have a tendancy to palm read I do not know where it comes from but to date Im told I have never been wrong.Im Irish and my grandmother was the 7th chiild of the 7th child, known as the white witch of Limerick. Im the second child of 7 even though my older brother died making me the eldest so I do not know but every spirtualist I meet tells me to devolope my gift. I was born 3 months premature baptised on arrival not to last the night so someone is looking out for me . Take care email me anytime xxxxx

Dear all. As much as I like dogs I think it's about time we all put our feet back on the ground again. Doing some good things for living dogs should keep all interested people busy enough.
