I am moving to North Cyprus with my partner early in the New Year and, although I won't need to work, I want to do something. I was thinking about training as a nail technician and just wanted some feedback as to whether you think it would be worth my while.

Thanks everyone

Lisa

Hi Lisa,

I am sure you would get a lot of customers doing nails or even chiropody as I don't think the course for that is very long.

Chris

p.s. We are always looking for volunteer carers and drivers here at trnchealthcare.

Hi Lisa

I believe that you will need to have the full NVQ qualifications to work as a nail technician here...A friend of mine had a terrible job getting her work permit here and she had her own business in UK and had won many awards as a nail technician.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Tinkie, i don't think she said she wanted to work, just train as a nail tech as something to do with her time.

But she asked if it would be worth her while....sorry I thought she was asking if it she would get work if she trained as a nail technician...why else would you train as a nail technician unless you wanted to work as one at the end of it?

Hi

I wasn't planning on looking for employment but just going to people's houses on a very casual basis!

All very well unless you get caught doing it and deported. There is a big section in the local paper today encouraging people to shop others who are working illegally.

Hi lisa,

When I have not been feeling well, the first thing I want to do when feeling better is to get my nails and hair done. I am sure there are lots of ladies out there who feel like me. Why don't you do this on a voluntary basis, this way your course hasn't been a waste of time and you would be helping someone feel better? If these ladies want to give you a present for making them feel better, well that is up to them isn't it?
