A samurai sword, a prosthetic arm and a coffin are just some of the bizarre items left behind on the capital's public transport system. The basement in Baker Street, central London, is celebrating 75 years of collecting items mislaid on overground and Tube trains, buses, cabs and coaches.

And now they are showcasing the forgotten finds, including a stuffed fox, a puffer fish, a lawnmower, a park bench, WWII gas masks and even a home vasectomy kit.

A pair of breast implants was also successfully returned.

However, the toothless man who came in one day asking for his dentures was less fortunate.

He brought back what he had identified as his own set a few hours later, complaining of "rubbing".

So if you see a one-armed, sword-less samurai roaming around the capital........

Why are you cluttering this board up with this trivia?

That actually sounds vindictive John, I would say the post was informative, I believe there are enough niggles on here for good reasons. I am not getting at you personally, it's just that I read so many attacks against people on here without having to find some way that a comment can if looked at in a certain way, contravene the rules.

John. Sorry if you feel that I am 'cluttering up' the board. I'm sure you are aware that 'clutter up means to 'make full'. There is more than enough room on this forum to post - therefore I doubt that I'm 'cluttering it up' as you put it. The post was not intended to be a 'joke' - it's a fact!

Nothing vindictive about it. I have no axe to grind. It is a perfectly reasonable question.

Clutter: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clutter

What has this fact got to do with providing information about the TRNC?

Given your definition of "clutter" do you see the role of the admins as just to fill up the board?

Blinkin 'ek John - lighten up! - it's a bit of harmless amusing info, although clearly not as important as bread machine recipes.

Well, you delete thread for being off topic yet whole threads which are of the topic of the board are allowed.

Anyway you obviously enjoy yourself:- 7278 posts at the rate of 15 a day. Most of them having nothing to do with TRNC.

The board has gone mad. Trivia allowed by the bucketload and avatars removed for being not the right picture. People endlessly bitching and abusing each other.

If you are going to be an admin and spend every waking hour on the board, get a grip, and get it back to it's original purpose and stamp out the abuse instead of worry about avatars of hippos etc.

Sounds like that other pedantic idiot that kept on posting about rules and regulations (name escapes me) a few months ago. Another invasion from the South side to scupper any form of good humour and light heartiness on this Forum!

John,

I soundly agree with some of your points but if this forum were only to be about serious matters in TRNC it would be about houses, dogs and government offices.

There is too much insulting on here and the moderators do seem to be a little one sided to who can and who can't, sorry mods, only my opinion.

JohnW. I get the feeling you don't like me. Here are some of your previous post's.

The mods are just following orders - LOL

No1Doyen

Now you are going off topic - big crime - this thread is about avatars surely?

No1Doyen

You said, "I would have thought the majority like it as it is!"

Surely you mean "I would have thought the majority liked it as it was until very recently!"

or do you really mean "as it is" with perfectly harmless avatars banned? Where is the logic of trying to make people post their own image when even the "busiest" forum admins don't do so.

No1 Doyen As a forum admin surely you should set an example and not clutter this board up with streams of non-TRNC related trivia. John

every so often a person has summat good to say on this board, JohnW I salute you.

Mods should not try to be dictators most posts go of topic so what but we are interested in some of them even some of the stupid ones posted by bored people, its better that than them topping themselves through not having enough to fill their lives

in my own opinion its better to only come in on a post if it has a point relevant to you, most in fact 95% of posters on here are quite lonley individuals who have nothing better to do and it makes the board owner richer by the day as he smiles all the way to the bank on the back of us moaning brits again

only my opinion

By the way JohnW, I'm not on here 'every waking hour' as you put it. I was asked to do a job and therefore in order to do it to the best of my ability I try to be on here as often as possible - how can you moderate a forum without being online.

If you want all the posts to be about.."where's the cheapest place to buy a paperclip" or "where can I get a short back and sides for 10tl" - then this forum is not for you.

johndp.... "most in fact 95% of posters on here are quite lonley individuals who have nothing better to do and it makes the board owner richer by the day as he smiles all the way to the bank on the back of us moaning brits again"

What's that got to do with anything?

I don't know you and have no views on your likeability. You seriously overestimate your significance to me if you think I might even have formed a view. I do however have a view on some of your posts which I feel rather contradict your duties as a forum "prefect".

I am most certainly not a cyber bully as you put it. If any one is you are for even introducing the subject. You are being extremely offensive in saying that and I am owed an apology though I don't expect to get it.

You have drawn attention to my views on the avatar issue. What has that got to do with what you imagine I might think of you.

As you can see from my profile I rarely posts, Only just over 100 posts, but do get very bored by the trivia and abuse. It seems to me that many and that includes you have no respect for the purposes that this board was set up for.

If I don't post please don't fret thinking it's because I don't like you any more, it's just that I have to go out.

I'm sure you're a lovely person really but you have lost the plot and need a long break from your keyboard.

I have to say I agree with JohnW - I thought to start a thread about cyber bullying yesterday and then it all turned on one person creating its own cyber bullying or 'ganging up' was out of order and allowed to continue for a while until it was decided to be closed !

There is a difference between cyber bullying and expressing your view and some on there that did express there view have indeed been the bully themselves!

If John w thinks this thread is a waste of time why cant he say that and you and everyone else observe the rule that everyones opinion should be respected

............. I now await my wrath back ! you do tend to start controversial threads and then close them No 1

but perhaps thats becasue you can

Sienna...."you do tend to start controversial threads and then close them No 1"..

I only close threads for a reason and I can assure you I have'nt closed that many threads. I'm sure if you look back there are very few that I've closed.

Of course JohnW is entitled to express his opinion, like everyone else on here, for which the majority I respect. However JohnW asked a question (see message 2) and I responded. He chose to respond to my answer - perfectly natural.

Tell me Sienna, what do you think I should do now, seeing that this thread has gone off topic?

you are the forum admin person up to you ! but then you could say that some deliberately take it off thread to get it closed

most forums allow things to go off and on topic thats how in a spoken conversation things tend to go.... thats life

Alsanjack is an expert at having his say then immediately closing threads but there we are
