Com -Aks sell every cable you could wish for - and they will make up any length you need. Prices very reasonable. They are on main Girne/Lapta road approx. opposite original Starlings market/Mercedes dealership and next to Mr. Pound.

RE msg 1, Kimig1: What kind of cable is that, Kim? Can you try to describe both ends of it? I have a lot of different USB (slow) and Firewire (very fast) cables and can have a look for the one you need.

Transfer from PC to PC with USB? To my knowledge not easily possible. I think you will need to setup a home-network and use a network cable to connect both of the PCs. If I were you and would like to transfer only files, I would burn them onto a DVD or tranfer them on a external hardisc which can be used as a security backup aswell. From this you can transfer the data also to your win7 system. To export outlook data you may do a outlook backup - name it backup, and this file you copy to your external hardisk. in your new outlook you can import them from this backup.pst file.. Programms need to be installed from zero. Good luck

I believe you will need either a crossover cable or a patch cable. The guide on your new windows 7 disc should tell you.

I am told, by Microsoft, that a specific cable, called a USB EasyTransfer can be used for transferring graphics etc from old XP machine to new Win7 machine. Much easier than writing to USB dongle, removing dongle, replacing dongle in new machine, copying onto new machine......Y A W N ! Maplin's have it for £30, plus postage and import duty here.... Being extremely mean ( cok cimri!) and this is probably the only time I will need to use it, I thought I'd buy - or borrow- someone else's cable! Seems not . Am I the only one wanting/intending to move to the new OS?
