Are all buildings registered in NC or could this happen there. Gumbet in Bodrum Turkey - Officials began demolition of more than 300 unregistered buildings which included hotels, restaurants, cefeterias, nightclubs, souvenier shops, bars & supermarkets built in the last 20 years during a boom period for tourism. "unlicensed & uncontrolled construction in Gumbet has been putting the district's future at risk, we had no choice but to demolish the buildings as the owners did nothing despite legal warnings".

Unfortunately many developments/buildings have been erected here without a building permit. The government/contractors union need to implement procedures to take action against these offenders because this yet another problem for the construction industry, which in turn is bringing down the economy. Unfortunately, as purchasers have found, without a building permit in place you cannot get final approval, kocan, or basic needs like wate and electricity because Kibtek will not connect to full mains without a building permit. Maybe they could take some advice from Turkey??
