Hi everyone - a bit of advice, please. Some friends are having to return to the UK and are giving up their residency. However, they have been told a BRS member that they will not be allowed back into the TRNC if they do this. Surely this is wrong?? Anyone know the truth??

My ex left TRNC just before her residency expired. She went back for a holday later in the same year and had no problem.

The advice you received may be valid, or, like much 'advice' in TRNC, may be just rumour.

But then, with TRNC, and different officials, you just never know.

There are No Facts in the TRNC, only a multitude of opinions. Might have something to do with the Embargoes. (what do you think????)

Allowing residency to lapse is not a problem.

When you return you just get a visa like everyone else on entry.

We have let ours lapse as we are returning to the UK but have been across the border a few times with no problem and have been given a 90 day visa on return.

Should they not have a situation that respects the contribution that residents make to the economy of The TRNC, without having to

beg?
